Happy Vegetarian Thanksgiving?

This will be my first vegetarian Thanksgiving in four years. When I decided back in the summer to resume my vegetarianism , my first thought was how much I was going to miss turkey skin on Thanksgiving. Yes, the skin! Now, just over three months later, I wouldn't dream of putting animal flesh into my mouth, let alone their skin (does anyone else see something inherently creepy about eating the skin of another being?!). I guess I'm fortunate to happen to love green bean cassarole far more than I have ever liked turkey. My family is being extremely supportive. The only dishs my grandmother is preparing that contains meat is the actual turkey. Maybe that's because they know if they ask me why I don't eat all the delicious meaty side dishes I'll go into a spiriling conversation about ethical meal choices and sentience, something that nobody feels like listening to at the dinner table on a holiday.

I hope that my fellow vegetarians and vegans receieve the kindness and consideration from their families that I am lucky enough to have this holiday. However, if you're not as lucky as I, here's a link to a website with a full of Thanksgiving items sans sentient beings!
